Facts Guide respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our own content to be respected in return. This page explains how copyright works on our site and what to do if you believe your rights — or ours — have been infringed.

All original articles, text, and other materials published on Facts Guide are protected by copyright and belong to Facts Guide unless otherwise stated. You may not republish, redistribute, or reproduce substantial portions of our content elsewhere without prior written permission.

Brief excerpts used with proper attribution and a link back to the original article (i.e., standard "fair use" quoting) are generally acceptable. Wholesale copying or scraping of our articles is not.

Images used on Facts Guide are either licensed for use (stock photography, Creative Commons, or similar), used with the permission of their owner, or original to Facts Guide. If you are a rights holder and believe an image on our site is being used without proper authorization, please contact us using the process below and we will investigate and remove or credit it promptly.

If you believe that content on Facts Guide infringes your copyright, please send a notice to contact@facts.guide that includes:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• The exact URL (or URLs) on facts.guide where the material is located.
• Your contact information (name, email address, and, if applicable, phone number).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will review the claim and, where warranted, remove or disable access to the material in question.

If you believe content you posted or that relates to you was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to contact@facts.guide including:

• Identification of the material that was removed and its location on the site before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, and phone number.
• A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the relevant federal court in your district (if in the US), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

As Facts Guide operates without a registered legal entity, we handle counter-notices on a best-effort, good-faith basis rather than through a formal registered DMCA agent.

If you come across a website republishing our articles without permission, we would appreciate you letting us know at contact@facts.guide, including a link to both the original Facts Guide article and the infringing page.

We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including removal of content and refusal of further correspondence, in cases of repeated or clearly bad-faith infringement claims or violations.
